Livestock Quality Assurance Training Certification

If you plan to show livestock at the county fair this year, please register for a LQA face-to-face training offered at various locations throughout Minnesota (most cost $5 but the cost is up to individual training sites). Training completion is valid for 3 fair seasons. A NEW and alternative option is to complete YQCA online which is valid for only 1 fair season and costs $12. Please review your 4HOnline account and verify that your Quality Assurance certification is still valid.

• 4-H’ers in grades 3-5 are encouraged to complete LQA or YQCA.
• 4 H’ers in grades 6+ MUST complete or have completed LQA or YQCA within the past three fair seasons to be eligible for state fair competition.

Winona County will not be hosting a LQA face-to-face LQA training this year and those in need of certification will have to go to a neighboring county or take the online training. Youth are encouraged to participate in the Olmsted/Dodge or Goodhue/Wabasha training dates. More local face-to-face trainings are available prior to June 30 and are posted along with the online training link and instructions on the Minnesota 4-H LQA link located at https://z.umn.edu/3cwh.
