  • County 4-H'er Honored by Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona
    Teagan Young was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of May. He is the son of Tanner Young and Lori Taylor and Kristal Young. Teagan is a member of the Little Valley Victors 4-H Club and a senior at St. Charles High School. He will be attending South Dakota State University for Ag Sales and Marketing.
  • COUNTY 4-H’ER HONORED BY KIWANIS SUNRISERS OF WINONA
    Gabrielle Lemmer was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of April. She is the daughter of John and Heather Lemmer, a member of the Home is Where the Herd is 4-H Club and a senior at St. Charles High School. Gabrielle will graduate this spring and attend Rochester Community and Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program.

    4-H members from Winona County participated in the annual 4-H Food Revue on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

    Talynn Kirtley was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of March. She is the daughter of Donny and Jennifer Skappel, a member of the Altura Sky Rockets 4-H Club and a senior at Lewiston-Altura High School.

    Makayla Jacob was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of February. She is the daughter of Dale and Dana Jacob and a senior at Lewiston Altura High School. Makayla is a 4-H member of the Silo Happy Hustlers 4-H club and has served as their club secretary.

  • On-Farm Research Opportunity – Sidedress Nitrogen
    Financial and technical assistance is available to farmers in the Whitewater watershed who would like to assess whether applying nitrogen through a sidedress application will improve yield this year. 
  • Farm Safety Course for Youth
    Youth who want to learn more about farm and tractor safety and/or would like to work with equipment with over 20 horsepower off of their family farms, have an opportunity to participate in U of M Extension’s Tractor and Farm Safety Certification program.
