Summer Gardening Series in Pine City August 19 and September 16

Want to learn the best time to harvest your vegetables and what you can do with them?   Come to the Summer Gardening Workshop on Monday, August 19 at 6 p.m. at the Pine City Community Garden at 10 S. E. 3rd St. in Pine City.

Master Gardener Kara Nelson will cover show you how to determine when vegetables are ripe and ready to harvest and pick to enjoy or process.  Jimmie Johnson, UMN Extension Pine County SNAP Educator will cover harvest nutrition and have recipes on how you can use your fresh produce.

The last session of the Summer Gardening Series will be presented by the Pine County Master Gardeners will be on Monday, September 16 at 6 p.m. at the Pine City Community Garden.  Master Gardeners will cover late season maintenance, harvest, storage, composting, garden clean-up and planning for next year. There will also be a potluck picnic.
