Year in Review Evaluations for youth and for clubs, New Club Charters and 4-H Youth Evaluations

As the 2018-2019 4-H year comes to a close, please be mindful it is the season for:

  • Year in Review Evaluations for youth and for clubs
  • Club Charters
  • 4-H Youth Evaluations

Club leaders will be receiving an end of the year packet with the above information.

YEAR IN REVIEW EVALUATIONS FOR 4-H'ERS: This form helps to evaluate a young person's reflection record, their 4-H story, and provides a way to interview them about their experience. There are instructions at the top of the form to follow. There are three forms you may use, depending on the 4-H'er. Basic and experienced records (available online), A 4-H story telling option, or they can be interviewed by a club leader or junior leader. In an interview, responses should be recorded on the form that will be turned in. IT is recommended that youth understand the criteria for ribbon placings before they begin their reflection.  The first step in the reflection process is to have youth fill out the evaluation form #1, then read ribbon placing criteria, then proceed to do one of the three options (record, 4-H story, or interview). Cloverbuds are eligible for participation only.  All nominations for outstanding end of year evaluation will be due Oct. 26th to the office.

YEAR IN REVIEW EVALUATIONS FOR CLUBS: Updated form for 2019 will be provided. This is due October 26th.

CLUB CHARTERS: Paperwork is due on or before Oct. 26th. Charter reviews will be on Oct. 26th during the Annual Volunteer Training.

U of M Extension 4-H Youth Evaluation: This is a state survey recommend for youth middle to high school age youth.  This survey can be turned in at the federation meeting on Sept. 30th.    Please make this youth survey a priority as the data assists in promoting the value of 4-H within the development of young people within East Otter Tail County.  Clubs that have 100 % membership fill out survey or at least 10 youth fill out the survey will receive 50 points on Club Year in Review.
