Free "How-To" GATEway Science Fair Workshop

Would you like to learn how to do a science fair project? Come to a free workshop that will show you how. Find out what makes a good science fair project, based on the scientific method of inquiry. Scientists will work with you in small groups to conduct and gather data for two experiments. Learn how to prepare a project display board and get tips on explaining your project to reviewers at the Science Fair. You can even practice speaking with a reviewer. There will be time to look at a variety of project boards and brainstorm ideas for a project of your own. 

  • Workshops are open to any public, private, or home-schooled student in grades 3-6. A parent or guardian must accompany students.
  • Choose between two available times - either Tuesday, December 3, 2019, 6:30-8:00 PM or Saturday, December 7, 2019, 1:00-2:30 PM.
  • The workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Sign up online at Science Fair Workshops are put on in collaboration with Mayo Research Fellows’ Association, Mayo Graduate Student Association, U of M Rochester, and the Century High School STEM Society.

Save the date and register now for the Fair! The 2020 GATEway Science Fair will be held Saturday afternoon, February 22 at the Mayo Clinic Gonda Building.  Any 3rd through 6th grade public, private, or home-schooled student in Rochester or the surrounding area is welcome to attend.
