May 1: Fair Registration OPENS! You can go to Fair Entry to register your projects for the fair. Animals will need to be online ID'd with 4honline BEFORE you can register them in Fair Entry.   ASK questions early Fair registration closes on Wednesday, June 20th.

May 2: It's County Fair Time, Now What?6:00 pm -7:30 pm Mahnomen Area Service Center Great Review for existing members/families and especially Important for first and second year families! Learn the What, How & Why of the Mahnomen County Fair. Register by calling 218-925-2226 or email swier023@umn.edu

Archery at the Mahnomen Elementary Gym. 3rd grade and up - MUST be enrolled in 4-H to attend!

May 12-13: 4-H Day Camp for kindergarten-4th graders and Lock-In for 5th-8th graders This needs to be rescheduled

May 11: Deadline to register for Sand Hill Lake 4-H Camp

May 15: Animal online ID Deadline - Watch for information in the mail and email

May 16: Mahnomen County Progressive Farm Safety Day, Shooting Star Event Center - 5th graders from six area school

May 16:  6:00 pm Ambassadors (grades 7 & up) invited to bowl with the Norman County  4-H Ambassadors ARC Bowling Lanes, 16 4th Ave E, Ada, MN 56510. Pizza & bowling - call or email if you are interested in attending (218)935-2226 or swier023@umn.edu - we could ride-share to Ada.

May 20:  1:00 pm The Bagosendaan Program will host "Meet a Horse Day"at the Mahnomen County Fairgrounds. Area youth and adults are invited to come and learn about horse safety, horse riding, and horse care at this free, educational event. Bagosendaan integrates talking circles, horses, and community resources to motivate youth to stay in school and remain chemically free. If you have an interest in horses or in the Bagosendaan Horse Program we hope to see you there.

May 28: Memorial Day - Extension Office Closed

June 1: $50 second payment for Ambassador Mystery Trip Due  (Grades 7 & up)

Tuesdays & Thursdays in June from 1:00 - 3:00 - Choose Health (Food, Fun & Fitness) opportunity with SNAP ED   *Watch for more information

June 8-9: Sand Hill Lake 4-H Camp Grades 3-6 (Click on link) - *Camp Counselors attend June 7-9

Monday, June 18 TENTATIVE: Pre-Fair Clean-up at the Mahnomen County Fairgrounds.   3:30 PM / Bring wheelbarrows, brooms, shovels, rakes, power washers, gloves... The barn roof is being repaired sometime this spring and we will work with Matt Bly's timeframe.

Wednesday, June 20: Final day to register 4-H projects. This is done online through Fair Entry - guides available. If help is needed with this, please call, email or stop in the office.

Monday, June 25: Fashion Review & Demonstration judging at the Mahnomen Area Service Center.
Demonstrations: 1 pm                  Fashion Review: 2 pm                 Food Review: 3:30 pm

Wednesday, June 27: 4-H Static/General Exhibit judging 4 pm - 7 pm also OPEN CLASS entries due.  4-Hers can come to the 4-H building at 4:00 to get their cards and then find their judges. Conference judging: each 4-Her meets with a judge individually and talks about his/her project.        

Thursday, June 28:
Livestock entry for 4-H & Open Class is from 8 am - 10 am
4-H Food Stand 11 am - 9 pm
Dog Show: 1 pm              Rabbit /Poultry Judging: 4 pm (rabbit first)
              
Friday, June 29: 4-H Food Stand 11 am - 9 pm
Large Animal: 2 pm        Horse Show: 4:30 pm (Horse Arena behind barn)

Saturday, June 30: Final Day -
Breakfast at the Fair 8 am - 11 am  /  4-H Food Stand 11 am - 8 pm
Premium Auction 11:30 am        Exhibit Release - 8:00 pm

July 9-12: Ambassador Mystery Trip, Grades 7 & up
