The first meeting was held at the Mahnomen Public School on Thursday, October 27th from 11-12:30.  The purposes of Growing 4-H Opportunities Together:  Volunteers in Vision and Action are to:
• Define the direction Mahnomen County 4-H can take to fully contribute to the positive development of young people.
• Strengthen the volunteer system & structure to advance 4-H priorities.
• Identify potential organizational partners that have a mutual interest in working together to improve the scope & quality of youth development in the community.
Adults present:  Dana Trickey, Mitch Berg, Jeff Bisek, Kyle Larson, Gerri Swiers, Joshua Kokowski, Karyn Santl and Kim Anderson (via phone).  Autumn Person & Lindsey Swiers attended as youth representatives.  The group was introduced to the GOT:  VIVIA process and brainstormed a list of potential focus group members for youth & non-4-H adults.
This is your invitation to be on the 4-H focus group.  Hearing from youth, parents and volunteers currently involved in 4-H is an important part of this process!  The first meeting is set for TUESDAY, November 15th starting at 7:00 PM.  The meeting will take between 1 ½ - 2hours.  If you need childcare, please let the Extension Office know.
