The Mahnomen County 4-H Federation will meet Sunday, February 9th at the Mahnomen Area Service Center.  The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. Spring Volunteer training will take place immediately following the meeting.

Social-emotional skills include the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for youth to recognize and control their emotions and behaviors; establish and maintain positive relationships; make responsible decisions and solve challenging situations; and set and achieve positive goals. Youth mentors play an important role in promoting SE skills.  Mentoring relationships that are emotionally engaging (e.g., through trust, empathy, mutuality) are expected to produce social and emotional growth in young people that will improve their relationships with peers, parents, and other adults as well as their overall well-being and success in life. Learn more about how to effectively build Social Emotional Learning Skills by attending this training on February 9th.
