April Letter to Families

Dear 4-H families,

As I’m sure you’ve heard, we have extended our in-person cancellation period until May 15 to align with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This includes all 4-H gatherings in Mahnomen County. At this time, following these guidelines both Ashleigh and Rebekah are working remotely. You may contact them between the hours of 9am to 6pm with any questions, concerns or ideas.

I am working to adjust program offerings to meet the emerging needs of youth in our community. Please connect with me to share your ideas about how we can support and encourage our young people during this challenging time. Following the Federation meeting on Sunday March 29th a few items were discussed and voted on. We will move forward with the hiring of a Foodstand manager for the 2020 fair season. Please watch the newspaper for more information about the position and you may send Rebekah a message if you know of any potential candidates. The Small Animal Clinic and Steak Supper were discussed during this time as well. The Small Animal Clinic will be permanently canceled for the year. The Federation voted at this time to postpone the Steak Supper and review our options at the May Federation Meeting. If you have any questions about these items please contact Rebekah.

In the coming weeks, please keep watch for new 4-H opportunities. We will use our website, social media and other communication channels to help youth stay connected and find valuable ways to learn, lead and make a difference.

Committed to thriving,

Rebekah Donner or 218-770-0739
