Ambassador Kick-Off

Sunday, September 8th

Five youth participated in an Egyptian themed learning opportunity. They had to work as a team to escape the “Lost Mummy’s Tomb”.  Youth practiced using their communication skills, critical thinking skills and teamwork in order to beat the clock and escape out of the Lost Mummy’s Tomb. Afterwards the Ambassadors enjoyed a snack and reflected on the activity, sharing what they learned and things they would change about it. As an Ambassador youth will represent Mahnomen County 4-H as well as gain skills in the area of Leadership, Citizenship and Communication. They gain these skills through planned learning opportunities and being able to coordinate and lead activities in Mahnomen County for area youth.

Upcoming events they will help plan this year are: National 4-H Week during the month of October in the area schools and Cloverbud Project day in November. Mahnomen County is also hosting the Ambassador Training and they will be charged with helping to plan the food and setting it up. We are also planning an adventure weekend in the spring during which the ambassadors will take part in a service-learning project, leadership opportunities and team building all the while having fun.

Thank you to Gerri Swiers and Cassie Lefstad for leading the Ambassadors!

Our next meeting is October 6th at 4:30 pm with an Ambassador Training on October 17th starting at 9:00am.
