Follow the medication policy and procedures
The 4-H medication policy and the procedures are designed to help keep all youth safe by ensuring that medications are administered appropriately.
The policy and procedures must be followed at all 4-H programs, including local, regional and state events and activities (including state fair) when they occur overnight or during the day when a parent/guardian is not present. This policy pertains to the use of ALL prescriptions medications.
To help you and your family understand the policy and follow the procedures you will need to utilize the following resources:
- The information sheet for parents/guardians titled medication administration policy and procedures for Minnesota 4-H programs (includes events, activities and gatherings).
- The authorization for giving medication form must be completed by the parent/guardian for all prescription medications needed during a 4-H activity/event.
Contact the program coordinator in your county if you have questions about the medication policy, procedures and authorization form.
