Youth Teaching Youth on Hawk Talk

Teen Mentors spent an afternoon developing a recruitment video for the 2019-20 program year. Addie, Brooke, and Lily wrote a script and selected photos from last year to entice teens to join their team. The video was played as part of Hawk Talk at Grand Rapids High School. Check out the video here (YTY can be found at the 5-minute mark.)

Mentors utilized the school announcements as one of many tools to recruit new mentors to the YTY team. Teen Mentors have also enlisted the help of High School teachers and counselors as well as personally inviting other teams to join.

Youth Teaching Youth is a program designed and developed by High Schoolers and delivered to area Elementary students in an after school setting. Teen Mentors are coached by Extension Staff in hands-on learning, teaching techniques, quality learning environments, and reflective practices.
