4-H Members Participate in Sewing Project Day

On Saturday January 21, 2017, three Grant County 4-H members participated in a Sewing Project Day hosted by the North Star Retreat Center in Ashby, Minnesota. The members that participated in the Sewing Project Day were Shawn Klatt (Pomme de Terre), Miriam Holmes (Pomme de Terre) and Jenna Lange (Redwood).  These 4-H members completed a project called Mittens Galore. The 4-H Members learned how to use appliqué, wool, and sew on buttons. The projects the 4-H members created can be used as a table runner or wall hanging.

This project day helped youth develop 21st century learning and innovation skills – critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, organization – and mathematics and technology skills through a fun, hands-on project.
