Fabulous 4-H Food Challenge

Ready for the challenge???

  • Each week youth are asked to cook a dish & share what they learned through video or pictures
  • Film yourself cooking your recipe of choice using the challenge of the week
  • Take pictures as you go to share
  • Share your recipe & process used
  • Reflect on your cooking experience-successes, challenges, new skills, or techniques learned
  • Share your video or pictures with your Extension Educator by email every Monday, see below for emails

Week 1-May 18-May 26      Eggs-cook a favorite egg dish-omelet, egg bake, deviled eggs, egg salad…

Week 2-May 26-June 1        Bread-quick bread, yeast bread, muffin, biscuits, scones, rolls….

Week 3-June 1 -June 8         Dairy-smoothie, ice cream, yogurt, anything with cheese, cheesecake……

Week 4-June 8-June 15        Fruits/Vegetables-dessert, smoothies, fruit pizza, vegetarian dishes……

Week 5-June 15 -June 22     Pasta Dish-make your own pasta, alfredo, marinara, marsala, pesto……

Week 6-June 22-June 29      Meat/Protein Dish-beef, fish, pork, poultry, tofu, beans………

Each week will also have fun food science experiments to extend the learning

For every challenge completed and pictures/video sent in, your name will go into drawing for a small prize (cooking utensils, potholders, Dairy Queen certificates, cutting boards….)  There will be an overall drawing at the end and every challenge you complete you can enter your name into the overall drawing for the grand prize
