It's time for 2020 SS&W leader certification

Now is the time to begin your 3-step SS&W Leader Certification process!

Please see below on the requirements for each step. All 4-H Volunteers must be in ACTIVE status.

These steps must be completed to become fully certified in a new SS&W discipline:

  • STEP 1 - Complete the National 4-H Shooting Sports instructor online training course. This online training fulfills instruction hours in volunteerism and positive youth development. This five hour course must be complete before attending a one-day in-person discipline training.  Registration and details are NOW AVAILABLE on the SS&W Leader Certification site.
  • STEP 2 - View recorded Minnesota 4-H SS&W risk management webinar. The link for this one hour recorded session will be sent to individuals who complete the previous step.
  • STEP 3 - Attend a one day in-person discipline training. The SS&W staff is setting up training throughout the fall across the state. Once developed, we will send information as soon as possible. Steps 1-2 need to be complete before attending the in-person training.

Minnesota 4-H SS&W Instructors are required to be re-certified in the same discipline every seven (7) years. 4-H Volunteers must be in ACTIVE status and complete STEPS 2 and 3 above. Re-certification volunteers will register for a one-day regular training or one-day re-certification training. Watch for training sites and dates coming soon.
