    Apply for 2020 Helping Hands Awards by March 1

    2020 Helping Hands Grant applications are now open to programs and projects led by youth—apply by March 1!

    2020 Minnesota 4-H scholarships available for college-bound 4-H youth

    Extension development and Minnesota 4-H offer several scholarships for 4-H youth who are pursuing post-secondary studies at accredited colleges and universities. Over $20,000 is awarded annually through a competitive application process. All applications are due to the Extension development office by April 1.

    Attend spring 2020 SS&W Leader Certification Training

    4-H SS&W Leader Certification Trainings will be held April 4-5 in the Redwood Falls area and April 25-26 in the Park Rapids area. The Park Rapids location will also host ATV safety training. These trainings are designed for adults and youth that lead or would like to lead training in shooting sports, wildlife, or ATV safety. Registration deadlines are March 13 and April 3. Disciplines fill quickly, so make sure registration forms are sent in early!

    4-H market beef ID deadline extended to Feb. 18

    The Feb. 15 market beef ID deadline has been extended to Tuesday, Feb. 18, due to the long weekend and holiday. All market beef must be identified by Feb. 18 via 4HOnline or submitted on paper copies of the ID worksheets.

    Save the dates for 2020 Minnesota 4-H lama clinics!

    Two lama clinics are being planned for May. Clinics will take place at the Washington County Fairgrounds. A May 16 clinic will be held for youth and a May 17 clinic will be held for adults who judge or would like to get started judging.

    Seeking youth and adults passionate about photography

    The Minnesota 4-H photography sub-committee is looking for youth and adults who are passionate about photography to serve on the state 4-H photography project development committee.

    Start forming your crop scouting teams!

    It’s time to recruit teams for the Minnesota 4-H crop scouting event to be held on July 27. Teams should include 3-5 youth (grades seven and up) and two adults. Registration opens March 1!

    Keep youth safe: Ensure all programs are publicly scheduled

    All 4-H programs must be publicly scheduled on University of Minnesota Extension branded resources like the county web page, Facebook or calendar. This ensures that all youth, Minnesota 4-H volunteers and parents/guardians are aware of and have access to 4-H programs, activities and trainings.
