4-H in Chippewa County

    Animal Identification - due May 15th
    Any 4-H livestock participant must properly ID their animal exhibit by May 15th to be state fair eligible or to participate in the blue ribbon auction. Please follow MN State 4H animal species specific identification guidelines. Taggers and 4H ID tags can be found at the extension office.
    Complete LQA&E Training
    Any 4Her showing livestock needs to have updated LQA&E training done before county fair to be able to qualify for State Fair showing. You now have the option to complete the training in person on June 25th or online.
    Agronomy Update
    4-H has expanded widely in their agronomy section! From crop scouting events to additional projects in the premium book there is something for everyone!
    YELLO Registration due May10
    Register by May 10 for the state leadership conference, Youth Exploring Leadership and Learning Out loud! (YELLO!). This annual event will take place June 11-14 in St. Paul and is open to youth participants in grades 6+.
    Poultry Workshop
    Chippewa County is preparing a poultry show workshop this summer for June. Any 4Hers that are in OR interested in the poultry project are welcome to join to learn more about proper handling, showmanship and nutrition of birds.
    State Horse Bowl Results
    State Horse Bowl was held on April 6th at Sauk Rapids/Rice High school. Chippewa county had both a junior team and a senior team. They worked and competed all year to get to this point with wonderful results!
    It's time to register for the 4-H Agronomy Crop Scouting event
    A 4-H Crop Scouting event will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 in rural Benson for 4-H and FFA youth currently in grades 7-12.
    4-H Agronomy on the Road!
    4-H Agronomy tours will be held on July 10 (Renville area) and July 17 (Benson area).
    Last chance to register for the 2019 Morris Regional 4-H Camp!
    Any youth in grades 3-6 are invited to attend camp, June 18-20 at the University of Minnesota, Morris Campus. Registrations accepted through May 10.
