Apple Tree Workshop

Apple tree pruning and Integrated pest management will be the topics covered at the February Community Connect Class. Cindy Hale of Clover Valley Farms will be the presenter for the afternoon. Cindy is a well known orchardist in our area with years of apple tree experience. 

12:30 pm - 2:00 pm - Pruning apple trees. This segment will focus on pruning and training of new apple trees as well as restorative pruning of older apple trees.

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm - Integrated Pest Management of apple trees - IPM is a combination of common-sense practices. Decisions are made based on pest life cycles and their interaction with the environment. Chosen methods are used to manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property and the environment. 

This workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Carlton County Transportation Bldg., 1630 County Rd. 61, Carlton. The cost for this class is $10 for 1 class and $15 for 2. Please call the Extension Office to pre-register. You may pay at the door. Hand outs, door prizes and refreshments are included.
