Carlton County welcomes Extension Educator Tarah Young

Carlton County Extension is pleased to announce that Tarah Young has accepted the position as the new Carlton County Extension Agriculture Educator, effective March 2, 2020.

Tarah grew up on a family farm in Buffalo, MN, raising Hereford beef cattle and alfalfa. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University with degrees in Agronomy and Agribusiness Management. Tarah has interned with a local cooperative and also with a large agricultural company where she developed a passion for helping producers. She has extensive experience in crop scouting, building customer and co-worker relationships and in supervising agronomic research.

“I have a passion for helping producers manage their crops, even in the most trying of times. I look forward to serving the people of Carlton County through my efforts with University of Minnesota Extension,” said Young. “Stop in to the Carlton County Extension Office with any agriculture related questions or to say hello!”
