4-H

  • SE Invitational 4-H Project Bowl
Here’s a chance for you to practice and learn about 4-H Project Bowls. The SE Invitational 4-H Project Bowl will be held Saturday, February 22 in Byron. This will be a double-elimination contest following MN 4-H Project Bowl rules (www.extension.umn.edu/youth/mn4-H/events/project-bowl).
  • Livestock at the Brown County Fair
As you are aware, the fair board has adopted new policies this year for biosecurity reasons. We ask for your patience and understanding while the fair vet and his assistants check over the animals to ensure safety of all animals attending the fair. This is a basic overview of how the check in process will be completed for each specie. If you have questions, please let Abby Schwab or Phil Gill know.
  • Meet the Intern - Q&A with Jessie!
Jessie Schwartz will be the Brown County intern this summer. Want to get to know her? Check out this Q&A!
  • County Fair Registration
Club leaders received all fair registration family packets and premium books at the May 16th Federation Meeting. These materials are available online along with the instructions on using FairEntry. Remember that all fair registration needs to be completed online by July 14th. Anything after the deadline will be county competition only.
  • Cloverbud Animal ID and Poultry ID Protocol
NEW! Paper ID's will be required for Cloverbud and Poultry participants. These animals will not be ID'd in 4HOnline (except pigeons/doves). Ge the details below!

  • Want happy plants and a healthy lawn? Get a soil test!
What's a soil test and why do it? A soil test provides information specific to your lawn or garden. You can save time, money, and angst by receiving lime and fertilizer recommendations based on your soil and what you want to grow - no more guessing! By applying only what's needed, you will also minimize any adverse environmental impacts from fertilizer use.
