Redwood County 4-H Projects and Events

Tuesdays:  Dog Training/Practices at Redwood County Fairgrounds 6:30-8:30 pm

Wednesdays:  Horse Ride Outs Begin May 22  - check out the FLYER   

JUNE Events:

  • June 1 - Ambassador Event:  Escape Room in Mankato.  Leaving Redwood Falls at 11:00 am returning approximately at 10:00 pm
  • June 1 - STEAM Club Event at Lyon County Landfill - Very interesting and highly recommended program.  Register by contacting Steph Dejaeghere at 507-828-5754
  • June 5th -  Horseless Horse Rider Program Begins - Youth Leaders Needed. Check out the FLYER  
  • June 11th -  LQA & E 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Redwood County Fairgrounds.  RSVP Needed or 507-637-4025
  • June 11th -  Auction Participant Required Training 12:15 pm Lunch Provided.  RSVP Needed. or 507-637-4025
  • June 17th -  4-H Camp at Lake Shetek
  • June 17th -  Food Stand Committee Meeting 7:00 pm at Plaza Garibaldi in Redwood Falls
  • June 18th -  Ambassador Service Project - All Redwood County 4-H youth welcome - and Grill out following.  Ruby's Pantry is located in the Redwood Falls Armory.  Grill out will be at Stacy's (about a block away 519 Northwood Drive).
  • June 19th -  Mock Judging event and Fairgrounds tour 6:00 pm .  All members welcome.  Bring a project to practice talking with a judge.  Livestock members who want to learn more about livestock interviews are also encouraged to attend. Light supper provided.  RSVP to or call 507-637-4025
  • June 19th -  Auction participant training 7:00 pm  (3rd of 3 offered training events - 4-H'er intending to participate in the auction must attend 1 of the 3) RSVP to or call 507-637-4025
  • June 23rd -  National Shoot Event
  • June 24th -  Prairie Woods Environmental Center Event - Busing Provided.  7:15 am in Wabasso 7:45 am in Redwood Falls.  Flying Squirrel, ground games, canoeing are a few of the opportunities.  See FLYER for details.  
  • June 26th -  Family Fun Day; Summer Splash 6 pm at Redwood Area Aquatic Center.  More information coming.  Food, Swimming, Kickball, Door prizes and a ton of fun!

JULY Events:

  • July 6th -  STEAM Club event 9:30 am at Plum Creek Park
  • July 9th -  Power of Produce Club Starts.  Youth Leaders Needed.
  • July 10th -  Pre-Fair Clean-up.  County Fair work schedules are posted in the Premium Book.
  • July 15th -  Performing Arts and Clothing Day Judging - see Premium Book for details
  • July 16th -  Static/General Project Judging, Horse Interviews and Horse Stall Decorating
  • July 17-21, 2019 -  Redwood County Fair  See details in the Premium Book.
  • July 25th and 27th -  Redwood County 4-H Dog Show

AUGUST Events:

  • August 1-3 -  Ambassador Food Stand for Trappers Convention at Redwood County 4-H Clover Cafe'
  • August 12-14 -  Equine Leadership Camp at Beaver Falls County Park  - check out the FLYER
  • August 21 -  Horse Project and Horseless Horse Rider Program Trail Ride

Other Program Dates to be announced:

AIS Robotics Team Schedule - program is open for all youth completing grades 4 and older.  Focus is on building and maintaining underwater ROV equipment and summer will focus on outdoor monitoring of rivers, streams, and lots of time on the water.

Outdoor Recreation:  This is a new program.  Look for dates and times for fishing events and tours and more as this program develops we will keep you all posted.  All are welcome to participate!
